By accessing and using OtakuTracker ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and OtakuTracker.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are located in the European Economic Area, you must be at least 16 years of age, or have obtained consent from a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet the applicable age requirement.

3. Description of Service

OtakuTracker is a platform for tracking, discovering, and sharing anime viewing experiences. The Service allows users to maintain anime lists, rate shows, interact with other users, and receive personalised recommendations. Features include episode tracking, shared lists, friend recommendations, and content filtering tools.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
• Update your account information as necessary to keep it accurate
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that contain inaccurate information or that we reasonably believe have been compromised.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or intimidate other users
• Upload or share content that infringes on intellectual property rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, its systems, or other users' accounts

• Transmit spam, unsolicited messages, or any form of malicious code
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service

6. Content & Third-Party Data Sources

Anime metadata and related content displayed on OtakuTracker is sourced from third-party providers. All rights to such content belong to their respective owners. OtakuTracker does not claim ownership of any third-party metadata, images, or data.

Our third-party data providers include:

• Jikan / MyAnimeList — anime metadata, episode data, and character information
• AniList — content tags, ratings, and supplementary anime data
• TMDB (The Movie Database) — season grouping identifiers

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

User-generated content (list descriptions, notes, and recommendations) remains the property of the respective user. By submitting user-generated content to the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display and distribute that content within the Service.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Copyright & DMCA

OtakuTracker respects intellectual property rights. If you believe that content on the Service infringes your copyright, please contact us through the Feedback Hub with the following information:

• A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
• The URL or location of the allegedly infringing content on the Service
• Your contact information (name, address, email)
• A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner
• A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, under penalty of perjury

We will investigate valid DMCA notices and take appropriate action, which may include removing the reported content.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of anime metadata, recommendations, or any other content displayed through the Service.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, OtakuTracker and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Alabama, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the State of Alabama, United States.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time at our discretion. When we make material changes, we will notify users via the Service or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
